About Us

Hello, we're Mike and Krystle Larsen! We are so excited that you have come to our blog and can't wait to tell you more about us!

We've been married for almost five years.  Almost a year before we got married, we met in the single's ward (a congregation in the LDS church comprised of young single adults).  We had different circles of friends, but one day starting talking with one another.  Our friendship blossomed, but it didn't bloom to anything romantic for six months.  We enjoyed planning parties with our friends and getting to know new people.  Eventually our friendship grew into a steady relationship and quickly into the happy marriage we enjoy today.

Mike is the second oldest of seven kids.  Currently he is working for T-mobile and finishing up school for computer programming.  He has an associates degree in computer animation. He served an LDS mission in Arcadia California, a suburb of Los Angeles.  During his free time he enjoys working on cars, handy projects around the house, and creating fun things using the skills he learned with his computer animation degree.

Krystle is also the second oldest, but only of four kids.  She is working her dream job as a 5th grade teacher for a public charter school.  She has always had a love for children and loves to see the joy in their eyes when her students learn or accomplish something new.  Krystle is always looking for the next creative DIY project to put her mind to by creatively re-purposing ordinary things into something new and exciting.  She has a love for cooking and loves finding a good book to read.

We love to spend our time with our family. They are some of the best and greatest people we know! We love to go on new adventures and try different things.

3 things Krystle loves about Mike:
1. Sense of Humor: Mike has the best sense of humor! He is always making me laugh, even when he does something that drives me nuts. He is able to put a smile on my face and eventually we are both dying of laughter.
2. Sense of Caring: I always see Mike taking care of me, our cats, our house, others around him, and the list can go on and on. He is always willing to put in the effort and work to take care of problems or help others that need it. Mike is never idle and constantly puts up with my crazy ideas with a willing face (as soon as I convince him it's a good idea :) )
3. His devotion to the Lord: Mike always helps me keep the eternal perspective in mind. He reminds me that the Lord has a plan and will never let us down.

3 things Mike loves about Krystle:
1. Her never ending encouragement: She always has a "you can do it!" attitude.  She is so positive with me and the people she interacts with.  She helps you feel that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to and always has endless words of encouragement to help you along your way.
2. Sense of Adventure: Krystle's always willing to try something new.  Whether it's trying a new food or just trying something random and new, she's not afraid to step out of her comfort zone and try something new.
3. Her devotion to the Lord: Krystle has so much faith in the Lord.  She knows He has a plan for each of us.  Despite the challenges of life and sometimes the tears that come because of those challenges, she knows the Lord is there to help lift us up and help us to continue on.  She strives to live the gospel to its fullest and is a real example to me.

  1. You two are such amazing people and the love you have for each other is immediately apparent, even in the most mundane everyday things you do. You deserve to be the truly awesome parents that I know you will be. One very lucky child is waiting for you and we Irvines are rooting for you all the way until that blissful day arrives when you become a family of three.
